One afternoon Kyler was having a particularly rough day. He was pretty grumpy and ready for a nap. Jaden could tell that he was upset. So while Kyler was down for a nap Jaden says "I know what we could do! We need to help make Kyler happy." He went and got some paper. He said he wanted to write a note for KyKy. He had me start and end it, but wrote on the lines all on his own. On top of the note he taped a piece of candy and wanted to hide the note. He took the note upstairs and hid it in the toy room, then came back downstairs and started to draw a "map."
Jaden has started outdoor soccer. They have practice once a week as well as a game each Saturday. At one particular practice on April 26th, Jaden and the coaches son, Jackson, were scrimmaging down the field. Jackson went for a big kick. Jaden put his foot on the ball to stop the ball from moving, causing Jackson to stumble over the ball...and obviously not making the goal he was trying to. Jackson quickly ran over to Christian and stated very emphatically "Will you take his super powers away!?" Glad we signed Jaden up for soccer. He seems to love it and excels as well.
Kyler has started to draw a lot more lately. Here are some of his drawings. This one he said he wanted to draw a dog.
And this one is Daddy in the middle with a hat on, Kyler on the left and Mommy on the right. After he was done he said "Oh no, I forgot Jaden." He flipped the paper over and drew him too!
This last weekend while cleaning up the yard, Christian wanted to make sure that the sprinklers were all working. Kyler quickly decided that meant it was a perfect time to run through the "sprinkles." So he and Jaden got their suits on and ran around the backyard as the different sections of sprinklers were tested. When the water was done being turned on, they still wanted to play in their suits. Mostly they jumped on the trampoline or played in the sandbox.
After a while Jaden came over and helped me plant some green onions. Later Kyler came around the corner, totally naked, holding his swimsuit in his hand, waving it around and saying proudly, "I got all the sand out mom!" We quickly put the suit back on and tried not to laugh too hard.
Another similar incident happened like this while at Indoor Soccer earlier this month. Christian was videoing Jaden playing when Kyler patted his leg and said "I have to go potty." When Christian looked down at Kyler, his pant and underwear were already down. He was ready to go! Christian of course, stopped the video, and quickly got Kyler's pants up and ran to the bathroom hoping not too many saw this incident. Oh boy Kyler....you are going to make us work as parents aren't you!?
