2nd tooth

Jaden came home from school yesterday with a surprise behind his back.  It was apple day, so I thought maybe he had made something from apples to show me.  But it wasn't.  It was a bag with a TOOTH IN IT!  He had pulled out his other loose tooth while watching a movie about Johnny Appleseed!

Apparently the tooth fairy was busy last night because Jaden woke up this morning with a tooth still in a bag under his pillow. :(  I told him she probably thought he tricked her and couldn't find it because it was hidden so well.  He got a really sad face and said "well, I didn't WANT to trick her.  I wanted money!"  We'll try again tonight. :)  Glad he was okay with that idea.  What an easy-going kid.

Nothing Humerus about it!

While we were at Jaden's football practice Thursday night, Kyler was playing on the playground.  About half way through practice he came toward me really crying, his arm staight at his side, being helped by an older woman.  I tried to have him sit to calm down, but he wouldn't.  I asked him where he hurt.  He pointed to his left forearm.  I asked him to squeeze my finger.  He said he couldn't.  I asked him to touch his head.  You could see him trying to lift his arm.  Then he got more mad and said it wouldn't move.  Thankfully I have some great friends there.  Sara Jane said not to worry about Jaden and she would take him to soccer practice after football. (She was his soccer coach)  And Andrea and Brooke took care of Beckam and got him in his car seat so we could just leave.  On the way home I called Kyler's pediatrician, and set up an after hours visit.  Kyler and I got home, and tried to calm down.  I iced his arm and had him watch some cartoons, and suck on some candy.  We headed to the doctor for his appointment at 7:30pm.  After checking his arm out, poking, bending, and squishing, he sent us to the hospital for X-Rays.  His elbow was pretty swollen and the doctor was pretty sure it was broken.  So he splinted it and we were on our way.

After being at the hospital for a while, we finally got to get X-Rays.  But the radiologist wasn't there to read the film.  I asked to still see them.  I wish I would have had my camera, because they were pretty sweet pictures.  I'm no expert, but I could tell that some dark lines in the white bone shouldn't be there.  We headed home to get to bed, and wait to get a call from the doctor to see what we needed to do next.

The doctor FINALLY called at 11pm! (Good thing we didn't wait around at the hospital)  No surprise to me, it was fractured, right above his elbow on the humerus bone.  Good thing Kyler doesn't have school on Friday's.  Because this is what we did most of the day.

Nothing some ice, rest, TV and candy can't fix :)

Monday the swelling was down enough to get a real cast on it.  Kyler wanted to show me his splint one last time.

Kyler was very cautious and protective of it when the splint was off.  Good kid!

At first he picked for his cast to be RED!  But then changed his mind to BLUE.

He's pretty proud of his rock hard cast.  Hopefully it'll heal fast and a month will go by quickly.  He's already learning about things he can't do. :(

And hopefully I will some day be a "nice mom" again.  Because right now all I am hearing from Kyler is what a bad/ mean mom I am. (Not letting him ride his bike or scooter, or jump on the tramp, etc...)  Please let this month go by quickly...

Beckam update

Beckam loves having his brothers playing with him.  Jaden sure loves to try and make him laugh.

Beckam doesn't really roll all over yet, but that doesn't seem to bother him.  He's rolled from his tummy to his back before, but is pretty content to just play on his back, suck on his toes or fingers, and just be a part of the group.  If he has a toy...great.  But if not, he's learned a new way of getting to something.

He just arches his back and scoots on the back of his head.

Not a whole lot of quick progress this way, but he has inched his way towards things.  He sure seems strong.

He's also sleeping in his crib now!  For the first 4 months of his life he slept in his swing (just like Kyler did)  We started easing into the crib by having only naps in the crib and bedtime in the swing, but just this last week he's been sleeping day and night in the crib.  AND the last 2  nights he's slept all night!  Hopefully this is something new that will continue.  I could definitely get used to it!

I ALMOST FORGOT...

He learned a new sound too.  About a week ago he started smacking his lips/ clicking his tongue.  I love all the things he's learning to do.

Playing with Maddix

It's always fun to play at Maddix's house.  He got some fun new toys for his birthday too, and was SO nice to share with his cousins.

Jaden was obsessed with the JEEP!

Kyler loved his bike, and they played with the remote control motorcycle guy too!  They went form one thing to the other and back again for quite some time.

Jaden giving Kyler a ride, or Kyler giving Emery or Maddix a ride.  It didn't really matter.  It was all a party!

McIntosh Dinner

Last Sunday we were getting ready to head up to see my grandparents in Salt Lake.  Kyler immediately got a sad face and said, "yeah, we gotta see them cuz they miss me."  He is so funny.

It was great to visit with my grandparents in Salt Lake.  Since grandpa wasn't able to make it to the Bagley family reunion, it was also great to see him and have him meet Beckam.

They make a great "Sunday dinner."  Roast, potaoes and the works.  And who can have dinner at the McIntoshes without their famous Black Cherry Kool Aid!  It was the best!  

We all had a great time.  What a cute bunch of boys with their great grandparents!  Thanks for the great time and dinner guys.

Flag Football

At first Jaden was sad that we signed him up for flag football and not tackle football.  But I think he's really starting to get the hang of it and doesn't mind so much that it's not tackle.  

Football isn't something we have really ever practiced, other than throwing a football, so I was interested to see how he would do with the way the game was played.

His coach is great and rotates the boys around to each position.  They all seem to really have a great time.

GO BIG BLUE!

What is wrong with this picture?  You may not know, but as parents we know.  Jaden has always kicked with his left foot.  In soccer, when he drop kicks the ball, etc.  No wonder the ball didn't go very far.  Guess we have something we can work on.  Don't know why he wants to kick the football with his right foot.  Maybe he wants to be good with both to trick people! :)

Christian gets pretty excited when he is videoing and sometimes forgets to look and see if  Jaden is even in the frame anymore.  So sorry in advance, don't get sick.  But this was a great play for Jaden.

I really like that his coach has the boys try all the positions.  He did such a good job blocking in this next one, that his teammate was able to score!  Way to go Jaden!

4 months old!

Beckam is now4 months old!  He's learned so much this last month.  He's really found his fingers and even sucks his thumb once in a while too.

Sometimes he gags himself as he sucks it though.  He makes the funnest faces.

Recently we put him in the Exersaucer.  He seems to enjoy this as well, since he is really loving to stand.

He'll still smile for just about anyone too.  He continues to be a pretty happy little guy.

Just this week he rolled over as well.

After a couple of times we got the camera to try and catch it.

I've been obsessed with this new trick more than he has.  I swear in this picture he's like...ok...again?...I'm waiting!

He's so grown up!

There is that thumb again.  I think it's adorable!  I'm glad he is learning to self sooth.

Although sometimes it becomes a two-handed effort.

He's so talented.  He also babbles, giggles and grabs his toes.  Sometimes he can even get them to his mouth.  He can hold toys and even pass them from one hand to the other.

Also, since he is 4 months old, we got to start with some "solids."  He loves watching us eat so I thought he would really enjoy getting a bite himself.

It looks more like torture!

He was really not enjoying it at all!  But we will continue trying each night.

He WAS happy when we were done trying and I let him hold the spoon.  All part of learning I guess.

At his doctor appointment he cried even before he got shots.  Must be getting stranger anxiety. :(  He seems to be growing just great on his curve though.  He's 25 1/2 inches (73%) weighs 13 lbs 12 oz (28%) and his head is 42 1/2 cm (58%).  Although small he sure is strong.  The Dr. was surprised how hard it was to just look in his ears.  He hated his shots!  That's another thing he'll have to get used to I guess.  His gums are swollen and he's for sure teething, but mostly he's a happy camper.  I really can't believe he is already 4 months old!
