My big 3 year old!

Kyler told me he wanted to have a party this year. (Jaden sure looks big compared to all those 2 and 3 year olds!) We played with balloons,

duck duck goose,

throw the balls in the box,

opened presents, and even decorated pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. (sorry, had my hands full, and didn't get pictures of that one. :)

They all had a great time. I think it was great for Kyler to be the center of attention, like he has seen his brother be so many times before. It's also been fun to see him be excited about seeing HIS friends. He is growing up!

Kyler has also enjoyed singing while playing the piano lately. Here he is singing a song about 3 withes and is about to hold up 3 fingers! He's so cute!

I think he was singing about some ducks in this video!

Here is Kyler at his 3 year check up.

He is 41 1/4 inches tall (75%) and 37 lbs (70%) I know he has skinnied up a bit, but was a bit surprised he was no longer in the 90 percentile! He's still so much bigger than so many other kids his age. (Guess that's why he is in the 70% and not the 50%...genius mel) That's our big guy! I love it when he'll smile for me. What a handsome kiddo.

Halloween Party

Christian and I got to go to an MBA Halloween Date night dinner. It was nice to meet more in the MBA program along with their spouses. I decided to enter the "spooky dessert contest" and WON "most spooky dessert" with this bowl of bloodshot eyes!

Dinner was your choice of soups, (pumpkin brains with chicken/ corn and toenail chowder/ etc), salad, and bread sticks (a bone or a witches finger) and don't forget the goblin pee (lemonade) or homemade rootbeer.

After dinner we played some fun games where 3 couples at a time had to go up on stage to compete. Everything from name that tune of super old songs, with a Halloween theme, to eating chocolate covered Brussels sprouts, to the newly-wed game. I really enjoyed this date with Christian and I'm so glad the MBA program offers activities like this. More dates to come I am sure!

Kyler's Birthday

I can't believe my little guys turned a BIG 3 years old yesterday! Here's a couple pics of Kyler 3 years ago!

That cute little guy decided he wanted a ROBOT cake for his birthday this year! He was pretty excited about it. It tasted great too! I love making the kids' cake. Favorite birthday tradition!

He was so excited about opening presents. He didn't seem to care that they were wrapped in the Wall Street Journal! :)

Kyler wanted to play tennis at the park for his birthday! I think he had a blast!

Jaden loves helping his brother open presents! (And trying to get as much play time in with them as possible too!) Kyler is so nice to share!

Pumpkinland

For playgroup this week we went to Pumpkinland. I think we had a great turn out and everyone seemed to have a great time! I'm sure this wasn't all the kids, but a pretty good amount of them! Way to go to all the mommies being up for this!

The rabbits were licking Kyler's finger right before I took this picture. Then Kyler decided it would be fun to poke them! They moved away...smart bunnies!

This maze was kind of tricky, but eventually we all made it out!

Hee Haw Farms Field trip

Jaden's Kindergarten got to go to Hee Haw Farms for a Field trip a couple weeks ago. Kyler and I decided to join the fun. Here's Kyler waiting to follow the bus.

He didn't like sitting on the hay bales. I think it was kind of itchy! Oops! Guess I should have put him in pants!

Kyler had always been a climber and loves to show off his upper body strength.

In this video he liked to climb up and then down again, but on the way down he wasn't using his feet! Arms only decline. What a silly guy!

Kyler could have spent all day here! Going up!

Then coming down!

This slide was awesome! The kids sat on gunny sacks and slide down the very dirty slide! Luckily Kyler got some turns in before all the Kindergarten kids got there. He LOVES slides!

Once the line started for the Kindergarten kids, they didn't get to go again and a again. They got one slide, and then had to stand in a long line again.

But I think Jaden still enjoyed his turn down!

On the other side of that other slide Kyler enjoyed a lot, was just a place to jump down onto a soft mat! This reminded me of when we let Jaden jump down our stairs onto the Love Sac. Good times! Kyler seemed to really like this as well.

There was also a place to pet some animals. The sheep seemed scared and were all huddled together in a small barn, but the goats and chickens didn't seem to mind all the kids.

I tried to show Kyler how to throw the bean bags through the holes, standing a bit away from the barn. He liked his way better.





This was interesting! It was a corn box! Kyler seemed to enjoy it just as much as any sand box he'd ever been in. Fun idea.
