BUSY weekend

When you look at a project like this that you start, it's hard to see the end result. (And sometimes it seems too far away to really picture.) But a couple of weeks ago we got our hole dug for our trampoline. We even dug it a bit more in the center so that the chances of bottoming out are pretty much out of the question. And it will help with water drainage.

Putting the trampoline together was the easy part. Even building up the metal sheets retaining wall wasn't as bad as I thought. It was the back fill that was killer!

This weekend we finally got it up and able to be jumped on! You can tell the kids are loving it! And yes...more projects....the fence is going in. We got all the posts set. So next week we can start putting the fence up.


More and more projects. Guess that's part of having a home. More on this next project to come!...Don't you just love the anticipation...?

Our table

So after I thought we were done with it last time, we had to redo it all again, because there was too much lacquer on it. Here are some of the stages that we saw it in. Almost done, to sanding the top down again, new coat of stain, and a second coat to finish it off.





























Well, there it is! Finally done! I think it turned out great. Now I guess all we need to do is replace the folding chairs....and finish the crown molding....and get some sconces for each side of the mirror....and get curtains......and build the china hutch Christian wants to build...and get a pretty rug for under the table. Okay....so we are not quite done with that room at all, but at least we have a table!

JADEN IS 4!!!

Jaden's 4th Birthday was on Sunday, but mostly we celebrated it on Saturday with all of Christian's family here. It was so much fun. I think I was more excited than he was about it all. He LOVES all the things he got. Thank you everyone!


He was so excited to open EVERYTHING! Gotta love this age.























I LOVE these wooden puzzles. He's already getting so much faster at them too. He got a 24 piece as well as a 48 piece. Smarty pants!


Jaden has also gotten pretty amazing at baseball lately. He wishes we had Itty Bitty Baseball everyday! I know you can't see it in the picture, but he just slammed one!

Jaden's Birthday Cake

I LOVE making the kids special birthday cakes each year! This year Jaden wanted a BATMAN cake. So this is how it turned out! I know I am not a professional, but I think he will LOVE it! His birthday is on Sunday, but since Christian's parents are coming in town tonight, we will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow with them. I can't believe Jaden will be 4!!! WOW!

Sorry to get all your hopes up, but the picture of the new dining table in its new home will just have to wait! :( Something didn't go right with the laquer we used, so we are now in the process of fixing it. Hope it still turns out...eventually. If what we are doing now doesn't work at least we know how to sand it ALL down and re-stain. Not the option I want, but at least we know how to fix it if nothing else works. Wish us luck.

PROJECTS!

So after picking up this table from DI here in American Fork 2 years ago (remember Karli....thanks for letting us use your truck way back then) we are finally going to have a dining room table! I wish I would have taken a picture of it after we had sanded the top, but I didn't remember until we were almost done. At least you can see what color the table used to be. Can't wait to show off the final product in the dining room and everything. (Probably tomorrow!)

Sat in our garage for 2 years!
FINALLY began sanding it a couple of weeks ago.
3 layers of stain on the top (we used EBONY)
2 coats of black spray paint (yes, spray paint) on the legs
And a spray-on laquer to finish it off!

Can't wait to take pictures of it tomorrow night in it's new home! :)
