Happy Memorial Day!

After playing at the park for a bit this morning we headed up to Salt Lake to my Grandpa's grave site.

Same tradition as always, if you can recite Grandpa's quote from memory, you get a crisp 5 dollar bill! With a little help Jaden got to do it too!

The boys loved digging around the grave with a shovel, cleaning it up. You give those boys a shovel...their good for quite a while!

What cute brothers.

Kyler didn't want to get off this stone! Sorry Browning family.

After the cemetery, we headed to Aunt Sue's for a sloppy-joe linner. (You know, after lunch time but not quite dinner... :) Here's Kyler showing off his ice cream covered chin saying none other than "CHEESE!"

My cousin Spencer was so nice playing with the boys so much. Jaden LOVES baseball! Have I ever mentioned that before? :)

Kyler LOVES swings! He cracks me up!

Both boys just loved Sue's backyard. Such a fun playground!

Now, I don't know what is up with Kyler's left arm in this picture! No, it is NOT broken! This is just the boys doing a super jump--AKA jumping as high as they can and then cannon balling it to their seat! What's up with their arms behind them...? Really have no clue! But they were for sure having fun!

However NOTHING could have prepared them for THIS! When do I get MY turn!? Looks like fun huh? Wow Spencer, you are going to be sore tomorrow! Thanks for playing with my little guys! I will never be able to make them happy on the trampoline again. Seriously, check out that height! Super fun holiday! Glad to have some family around to share it with.

Funnies

While watching America's Funniest Home Videos tonight with the kids, there was a particular video on where a dog opened the fridge and began emptying it. Pulling not only the food out, but the drawers and shelves as well. The fridge was beginning to look quite empty. Jaden stared with a look of disappointment and shock and then said, as he turned his head and looked right at me, now looking kind of mad, "It just didn't ask." Guess he thought the dog should have asked to get a snack. And he was so serious. It took so much control not to laugh at him!

I've been wanting to post this forever, and keep forgetting...so here you go. If Kyler has to put on a jacket to go outside he quickly says, as he is turning in circles trying to find the arm holes to begin shoving his hands down, "I no meed zipper it." It never gets old. I love that he tells me EVERY time!

Jaden was in some sort of silly mood tonight. Check out that stare at the end. Big eyes, and puffy cheeks....what a crack up!

Jaden wasn't the only one in a goofy mood tonight. Kyler thought it was so funny that the "bullets" could stick to him! He's so proud! Just look at that smile!

And who knew the fun that could be had on dollar beach balls! Count on kids to come up with some of the most creative fun ever. You don't want to know how long they did this for. :)

They really are my funny boys! And maybe it's a biased opinion, maybe it's in their blood, but those are some pretty good bridges, even if they do have a ball under them! Just keep me laughin' boys. Just keep me laughin'.

Cleaning up a Mess!

So, if you read my previous post about the mess that Jaden's first birthday cake was you will understand these picture better. I just couldn't get myself to throw away pertfectly good, well, at least tasting, cake. So I threw it all in a big Ziploc and decided to save it for later.
What's in the bowl doesn't look that great, but that's what you get when you have broken up cake with frosting on it sprayed out from a plastic bag.
I asked Jaden to give me his happiest smile!

Kyler almost couldn't wait for me to take the picture. Yummy!

Guess looks are not everything! He ate every last crumb! And I did too! :) This MESS tasted fantastic!

Happy Birthday Jaden

5 years old, and growing up so fast! He LOVES his new bike!

Daycare even gave him a dollar for his birthday. So we headed to the dollar store and came home with yet another sword. This one lights up, makes a sound and makes both boys happy now, because now Kyler gets the Batman sword! :)

What did Oma and Grandpa send to Jaden for his birthday?

Star Wars Leggos! No way! This was the face we got for just about everything! So glad he's so easy to please and such a nice brother. He received a pack of 6 Bakugan's from Grandma and Grandpa Bradshaw and even let Kyler "have" 2 of them. He's being such a sweetheart sharing all his new toys!

When he opened his Sonic guy and car he said that this is what he was thinking about. This is what he wanted! Again very happy he was happy!

Some family came over Sunday for homemade pizza dinner and baseball cupcakes and ice cream.

Jaden had such a great time making his cousin Maddix laugh! He really is a GREAT big brother!

Monday morning we woke up to SNOW! Not a lot of it, but there was some. Jaden came into the kitchen and said, "Oh, no....it's Winter!." I told him it was still his birthday, that he was 5 years old! And all he kept saying was "Mom, are you tricking me?" He seriously couldn't believe he was really 5! When I finally convinced him that this was true, he goes "so, when can I go to school?" (He knows that I have told him he gets to go to Kindergarten when he turns 5!) I had to explain that Kindergarten would start in August! More waiting! He is SO excited for school!

Jaden wanted a Sonic cake this year. I cooked the cake Monday morning, but for some reason it wouldn't come out of the pan. I really tried to get it out, but what was left was a huge cake mess all over the counter with half of it still stuck in the circle pans. I screamed, and then started to cry. (I know...who's really 5 here huh?) Jaden quickly came into the kitchen and asked what was wrong. I pointed to his broken up cake and told him I was sorry I had screamed, but I was so mad that his Sonic cake wasn't working. It was all broken. Without hesitation he said "It's okay mom, I don't HAVE to have a Sonic cake." I told him that I was sad, because I wanted his birthday to be perfect. All he said was "it is perfect mom!" Couldn't ask for a better kid!
So after pulling myself together, and making another cake, this one from scratch, this is how his Sonic cake turned out. I'm no professional, but Jaden was pretty excited, and that's what matters!

He had some friends come over in the afternoon for a Birthday party. They wanted to play Duck, Duck, Goose forever! They LOVE this game!

What a fun group of friends Jaden has! I know I say it all the time, but we are so lucky to be in such a great neighborhood!

Here are their silly faces!

Red Sox T-Ball

Jaden was so excited for Baseball to finally begin! He loves this sport!

So the way T Ball works, at least for this group, they play 3 innings. Each player on the team gets to hit the ball once and run a base for each hit. The last one to hit on the team gets to run a HOME RUN! Then they switch. (Maybe this is how Baseball should really be played. I actually enjoyed this game :) ) Here is Jaden playing 3rd base in the 1st inning.

Jaden up to bat!

Jaden and his buddy Jason in the 2nd inning! Aren't they too cute!

Here's the line up! Jaden is pretty excited to be last!

What a run! Check out that form! I need to teach that to some of my gymnasts!

Here is a video of Jaden on the move!

3rd inning he played catcher. Not too much going on there. But he still stayed interested and was a great sport about all the "down time."

Here is what a play might look like! What in the world is going on? Fun! That's what!

At the end of the game they cheer for the other team! Way to teach sportsmanship! Go Pirates! Keep those games coming!

80 Degree Weather

I can't believe that earlier this week it was 80 degrees out! Guess we need some rain once in a while though huh? Well, when it was nice and hot on Monday we had a picnic at Jules house. Jaden is such the big brother telling Kyler to not touch the pool until it's all done!

I think that more water came out of the pool than stayed in, but they all seemed to be having great time nonetheless.

Jaden is getting pretty good at the Slip n' Slide, and check out that plumber Kyler! Guess he doesn't quite fit into Jaden's suit from last year.

Kyler loved sitting and falling backwards into the pool, or just jumping in and making a big splash! I would definitely say we are all ready for it to be summertime!

Look at what a good time Jaden was having!

I guess I am out of practice. I need to get better at really rubbing in the sunscreen and not just wiping it around him! Sorry bud. We'll get better at that one sooner than later. OUCH!! At least it wasn't too bad, and Jaden is tough. I know he'll want to go out again as soon as these rainy days clear up.

Primary Fitness Activity

Saturday the 15th was our Primary Fitness Activity. Jaden enjoyed shooting hoops on "the tall one" while we waited for the activity to begin. He actually even made a couple shots too!

They divided the groups into 4 stations. The one we started at first, the kids had to shuffle their feet, while in cereal boxes, around the gym and then shoot a hoop! Some got more into the speed of it than others! :)

Station 2 was push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks and stretching!

I think Kyler was trying to do sit ups here. I was laughing so hard because all he wanted to do was push up to a bridge to stand on his head! Good "pizza hands" I guess!

Station 3 was hula hoops! The boys thought that the Hula Hoops were fantastic and could have done this all day long!

Station 4 we headed outside to do shuttle runs/ ladders and other relay races. I thought that the boys kept up pretty well with this activity.

Then when we were all finished we met back in the gym, everyone got WINNER medals and had a healthy snack. There was bottled water, apples, bananas, watermelon, and plain popcorn. The primary President talked to the kids for a few minutes about their bodies being temples and the Word of Wisdom. I thought that this was such a great activity.

Well, they were both holding their medals up and looking at me, but I guess there was just someone/something else more exciting! What cute boys!
